Educational Objectives:
The program aims to cultivate individuals with a solid grounding in the humanities and social sciences, a sense of social responsibility, professional ethics, and teamwork awareness. Students will master the fundamental theories, professional knowledge, and basic skills pertinent to modern mechanical engineering. They will be adept at using modern tools and management techniques. Graduates will be qualified to engage in engineering design, technical development, business management, and scientific research within the fields of mechanical design, manufacturing, and automation. They are expected to serve industries such as machinery and metallurgy, equipped with a global perspective and a spirit of innovation, and to become application-oriented professional technical leaders.
Employment Directions:
Graduates primarily find employment in the Yangtze River Delta region and along the Wanjiang Urban Belt. A majority of them enter enterprises where they engage in technical and managerial roles. Some graduates opt for positions in higher education institutions, research institutes, or governmental agencies. Approximately 25% of the graduates pursue further studies by enrolling in postgraduate programs.

Over 40 years of educational development have enabled the program to specialize in electromechanical, manufacturing, and hydraulic disciplines, focusing on the emerging industries of equipment manufacturing in Anhui and the surrounding region. This has established the program with a high social reputation and influence within the mechanical and metallurgical industries across East China. The program has fostered student exchange programs and talent cultivation international cooperation plans with overseas institutions, such as Florida State University, Longwood University, and Purdue University in the United States.A traditional emphasis on hands-on skill development distinguishes this program. In recent years, students have achieved excellent results in major national competitions, such as the National College Student Mechanical Innovation Design Competition and the National 3D Digital Innovation Design Competition, with over a hundred patents filed annually. Disciplines related to engineering and materials science within the program rank in the top 1% globally according to the ESI (Essential Science Indicators).

Educational Objectives:
This major cultivates applied professional and technical backbones with a certain international perspective and innovative spirit who possess humanistic and social science literacy, social responsibility, professional ethics, and team consciousness, master the basic theories, professional knowledge, and basic skills related to modern vehicle engineering, be good at applying modern tools and management techniques, be competent in product design, technology development, manufacturing, business management, and engineering scientific research in vehicle engineering and related fields, and serving the vehicle engineering and related industries.
Employment Directions:
The employment and further education rate of graduates has remained above 95% for five consecutive years. Graduates go to the Yangtze River Delta region such as Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai, as well as related industries such as automobiles and machinery in the Wanjiang City Belt. They work in the design and development, manufacturing, sales, and management of related products. Some graduates enter higher education institutions, research institutes, government agencies, and other departments. More than 30% of graduates from each cohort are admitted or guaranteed to pursue further studies at Double First-rate universities such as Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tongji University, Jilin University, Hunan University, Chongqing University, and Hefei University of Technology.

Focusing on intelligent monitoring and smart equipment as the main directions, this major is designed in line with the trends of Industry 4.0 and artificial intelligence. It offers courses related to the health status monitoring and intelligent operation and maintenance of large, heavy-duty machinery in industries, such as mechanical engineering and metallurgy. The goal is to cultivate professionals with a foundation in humanities and social sciences, social responsibility, professional ethics, and team spirit. Students will gain knowledge of modern mechanical engineering theories, professional expertise, and essential skills. Graduates will be proficient in applying modern tools and management techniques to complete the work of designing and development, operation and maintenance, business management, and scientific research in the field of mechanical engineering. They will serve in machinery, metallurgy, and other industries. Eventually, the students will become the leaders of applied professional technology with a global perspective and innovative mindset.
Employment Directions:
Graduates primarily find employment in large state-owned enterprises like Baowu Ma’anshan Iron & Steel and Nanjing Iron & Steel, as well as in joint ventures and private companies such as Samsung Suzhou and AU Optronics. Over the past five years, the average employment rate has exceeded 98%. The major boasts a strong academic culture, with a graduate school admission rate consistently leading other majors. Over the last three years, the average admission rate has been above 35%, with many graduates being accepted into prestigious universities both domestically and internationally, such as Tsinghua University, the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the University of Science and Technology of China, and Tongji University.

The Mechanical Engineering major originated from the Metallurgical Machinery major, established in 1984. With nearly 40 years of educational experience, it now focuses on "smart equipment" and has built a strong reputation and influence in industries like machinery and metallurgy in the Anhui Province and the Yangtze River Delta region, particularly in the fields of equipment manufacturing and strategic emerging industries.

4.Robotics Engineering

Serve applied professional technical backbones with a certain international perspective and innovative spirit in industries such as machinery, transportation, electricity, metallurgy, chemical engineering, and building materials.
Employment Directions:
The field in which this major is located is a key area supported and prioritized for development by “Made in China 2025”, with significant social demand. After graduation, students can engage in robot design and development, intelligent equipment design and manufacturing, intelligent robot and system development and other related work in the intelligent manufacturing industry (smart factories, industrial robots, industrial automation), artificial intelligence industry (visual cognition, human-computer interaction), intelligent vehicles (unmanned driving, assisted driving), intelligent logistics (express delivery robots, warehousing logistics robots) and other related enterprises. They can also engage in system operation analysis and maintenance, equipment manufacturing and technical management, and continue to study in artificial intelligence, control science and engineering, computer science and technology, electronic science and technology, mechanical and electrical engineering and other directions. It is a broad caliber undergraduate major.

Employment Directions:
This major is aimed at the strategic emerging industry of new energy vehicles, based on the national automobile power strategy and local economic development needs. This major adheres to the close combination of "thick foundation " and "emphasis on practice", adheres to the combination of "theory and practice, engineering and science, inheritance and innovation", and adheres to the combination of "professional knowledge system reconstruction" and "interdisciplinary integration". This major implements the comprehensive education concept of "one outline and two lines, three dimensions and four chains" to serve the new energy vehicle industry, actively explores the cultivation of talents in emerging industries, and better supports China's dream of becoming a strong automotive country through high-quality professional construction and talent cultivation.
