Introduction to Undergraduate Education

 

 

1. Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation  

Based on the needs of the industries in Anhui and East China, this specialty cultivates humanistic literacy, social responsibility, professional ethics, and team awareness, master the basic theories, professional knowledge, and basic skills related to modern mechanical engineering, and be capable of engineering design and technical development in this field, management and engineering scientific research, etc., serving the application-oriented technical backbone with a certain international vision and innovative spirit in the machinery, metallurgy and other industries.

This specialty was enrolled in mechanical engineering undergraduate in 1978, changed its name to metallurgical machinery in 1984, added fluid transmission and control specialty in 1986, and merged into mechanical design and manufacturing and automation specialty in 1999. The Mechanical Engineering Practice Center is a provincial demonstration experimental training center. This specialty has successively obtained the Ministry of Education-Auto tech Comprehensive Reform Pilot Program and Anhui Professional Comprehensive Reform Pilot Program. In 2017, it passed China Engineering Education Certification; In 2018, it was selected as the first-class specialty in Anhui Province and the "six outstanding and one top-notch" talent training specialty; In 2019, it was selected as the first-class undergraduate major in Anhui Province; In 2020, it was selected as the national first-class undergraduate specialty construction point specialty.

Through more than 40 years of school accumulation, around the emerging industries of Anhui and regional equipment manufacturing, it has formed three special professional directions of mechanical and electrical, manufacturing and hydraulics. It has a high social reputation and influence in the machinery and metallurgical industries in East China. It is a tradition of this specialty to pay attention to the cultivation of students' practical ability. There are currently 69 in-service teachers in this major, of which 59.4% have senior titles, and the teaching staff is strong. It has a second-level blog of "metallurgical intelligent manufacturing and process management", a first-level master's degree of "mechanical engineering", a provincial key discipline, and five provincial and ministerial research platforms. The engineering and materials disciplines to which the specialty belongs belong to the top 1% of the global ESI.

 

2.Vehicle Engineering 

This major is oriented to the main battlefield of national economic construction, relying on the equipment manufacturing industry, cultivating humanities and social science literacy, social responsibility, professional ethics, and team awareness, mastering basic theories, professional knowledge and basic skills related to modern vehicle engineering, good at applying modern tools and management Technology, capable of engineering design, technical development, business management, and engineering scientific research in the field of vehicle engineering, serving application-oriented professional technical backbones with a certain international vision and innovative spirit in vehicle engineering related industries.  

The specialty belongs to the School of Mechanical Engineering of Anhui University of Technology. It began to recruit undergraduates in 2005. It was named as a special university-level specialty of Anhui University of Technology in 2014. It was approved as a pilot program for comprehensive reform of Anhui Province in 2015.  

The first-class (brand) undergraduate construction major of Anhui Province. Supporti ng discipline "Mechanical Design and Theory" was rated as a provincial key discipline in 2008, and in 2011 was awarded a master's degree in mechanical engineering. In 2018, this major passed the engineering education certification of the Ministry of Education.

 This major closely integrates the development needs of the national automotive industry with the goal of serving the modern automobile manufacturing industry, making full use of the talent advantages that our school has formed in East China, and establishing low-carbon, intelligent vehicle design and manufacturing features based on socio-economic development needs. The professional training direction of this major: This major focuses on student-centered, persists in continuous improvement to promote connotative development, and has formed a talent training system that meets the international engineering education professional certification standards.

  

3. Mechanical engineering  

Cultivate humanities and social science literacy, social responsibility, professional ethics and team awareness to help students master the basic theory,professional knowledge and basic skills related to modern mechanical engineering, be good at applying modern tools and management technologies, and competent in the design and development of mechanical engineering, operation and maintenance, operation management and scientific research work, serve as the application-oriented professional technical backbone with a certain international vision and innovative spirit in machinery, metallurgy and other related industries.  

This major comes from the Department of Mechanics, Maanshan Institute of Iron and Steel established in 1978.In 1984,the Metallurgical Machinery Major in Department of Metallurgical Machinery was found,and then became the Metallurgical Machinery Major, Department of Mechanics, East China University of Metallurgy In 1986. In 2002, it was turned into the Department of Process Equipment and Control, School of Mechanical Engineering, Anhui University of Technology.In 2014,the major is renamed as the current one:the Mechanical Engineering Major.  

Metallurgical machinery is a professional advantage of this major. Machinery-related courses are organized around the requirements of the metallurgical industry; especially focusing on the equipment operation and maintenance, courses such as engineering signal testing and equipment fault diagnosis,are opened to cultivate students’ ability to engage in metallurgical related mechanical equipment operations and maintenance. In 2012, the process control and equipment major was rated as the first-class characteristic major in Anhui Province. In 2012, it was approved by Ministry of Education to open a class for outstanding engineers.In 2022, the major was granted to construct the provincial first-class major,and granted for the "Six Outstanding, One Top-notch" outstanding Engineer training project.


4.Robotics Engineering

  This major is the comprehensive reform pilot construction major of Anhui University of Technology. There are 19 professional teachers, including 14 professors and associate professors and 16 teachers with PhD degrees. Many teachers have rich engineering practice experience.

   This major cultivates application-oriented professional and technical backbones with humanities and social science literacy, social responsibility, professional ethics and team awareness, mastering basic theories, professional knowledge and basic skills related to modern robotics engineering, be good at applying modern tools and management technologies, and be competent in engineering design, technology development, operation management and engineering scientific research in the field of robotics engineering, serving machinery, transportation, electric power, metallurgy,  chemical industry with certain international vision and innovative spirit in building materials and other industries.
